In addition to the house being up for auction, there were other western items and personal memorabilia from Boyd’s home on the auction block June 4th at Bonham & Butter fields Auctioneers in LA. Many of the over 35 historic items, including authentic saddles that are mounted atop bar stools William Boyd’s home here, will be offered for sale. Additional items include bolo ties, a classic radio and exercise bike, bass violin, brass horse door knockers, a coffee cup with Hoppy’s portrait, some furniture and artwork from the Palm Desert Home.
The Palm Desert hideaway of one of America’s best loved cowboy-actors, William Boyd. “Hopalong Cassidy,” was auctioned to the highest bidder on June 2 by Pacific Auction Exchange. There were over 250 lookie-loos, and 12 solid bids, and finally a sales contract for $467,500.
